Summer Shala January 2026

AN IMMERSION IN SOUTH AFRICA

We invite you to embrace the dawn of 2026 in paradise at the southern tip of Cape Town, South Africa. Join us for a transformative two-week immersion from January 5th to 17th, 2026, along one of Africa's most breathtaking coastlines. This is a beautiful opportunity to deepen your yoga practice through visualisation, pranayama, and meditation during the vibrant South African summer. Our program is set amidst stunning beaches and some of the world's finest restaurants. Over these two weeks, we will engage in practices designed to clear our minds and rejuvenate our bodies with vitality and fresh energy. Each morning, we will begin with pranayama guided by Liz, followed by our morning practice. We will conclude each week with an inspiring workshop co-hosted by Liz and Michael. Additionally, Michael will lead two evenings each week dedicated to Sanskrit prayers, meditation, breath work, and philosophy.

WHY PRACTICE WITH US?

Liz and I are dedicated to establishing a space conducive to practice, with a primary emphasis on fostering deep connections within our community. The Yoga Shala epitomises an environment of self-exploration, recognising that each embarks on a distinct journey. This principle underpins our approach, as we prioritise creating a safe atmosphere that encourages students to engage in curiosity and open-mindedness in their personal explorations.

With over twenty years of experience in teaching and practising yoga, we possess the expertise to facilitate and guide students effectively. We acknowledge the importance of discerning when to encourage discipline and when to allow for reflection within our environment. We strive to support individuals in their processes without imposing absolute truths, approaching our practice with a sense of curiosity. Throughout the years, we have observed transformative journeys in both ourselves and our students, further enriching our commitment to the practice.
